Perundingan Libya Berakhir "Positif"

Konfrontasi - Putaran kedua perundingan damai antara faksi-faksi Libya, Selasa (27/1), berakhir di Jenewa dalam "suasana yang positif," kata PBB, saat milisi Negara Islam melancarkan serangan mematikan di sebuah hotel di Tripoli.

Di antara peserta perundingan dua hari yang ditengahi Perserikatan Bangsa Bangsa itu adalah berbagai kelompok dan perwakilan masyarakat sipil, yang menekankan perlunya dialog jalur cepat untuk membentuk pemerintah persatuan.

Gunmen storm luxury hotel in Libyan capital

KONFRONTASI-Gunmen stormed a luxury hotel in Libya's capital, killing at least three guards and five foreigners, before blowing themselves up after being surrounded by security, officials said.

The attack, which included the use of a car bomb, struck the popular Corinthia Hotel, which sits along the Mediterranean Sea and is a major hub for diplomatic and government activity in Tripoli.

Mahmoud Hamza, commander of the so-called Special Deterrent Force, told private satellite television station al-Nabaa that the situation was "under control'' by Tuesday afternoon.

Libyan government army declares ceasefire

KONFRONTASI-Libya's internationally recognised government has declared a ceasefire, with UN-brokered peace talks set to resume in Geneva next week.

Sunday's announcement by the Tobruk-based government, operating out of the east of the country, came two days after rival factions agreed to a truce. 

"We declare a ceasefire from midnight (22:00 GMT) on Sunday," the army said on Sunday, adding that it would continue to pursue "terrorists".

UN mediates Libyan talks in Geneva

KONFRONTASI-Talks between rival Libyan factions have started in Geneva with the aim of reaching a peace deal that could lead to the development of a unity government.

The UN is hosting the talks in the Swiss city amid warnings they could be the last chance for peace in the oil-rich North African nation.

Bernadino Leon, UN special envoy for Libya, said at the outset of the talks on Wednesday that he hoped armed factions would observe a ceasefire to support the process.

Takfiri militants abduct 21 Christians in Libya

KONFRONTASI - Takfiri terrorists in Libya have reportedly claimed responsibility for the kidnapping of 21 Christians while Egypt has confirmed that 20 of its citizens were being held captive in the North African country.

Activists from the SITE Intelligence Group reported on Monday that they have picked up a statement by the ISIL Takfiri group, saying its “soldiers” had “captured 21 Christian crusaders."

ISIL in Libya says it executed two Tunisian journalists

KONFRONTASI - The Libyan branch of the ISIL terrorist group says it has executed two Tunisian journalists, who had gone missing in Libya in September 2014.

The Libyan affiliate of the Takfiri terrorist group claimed in a statement posted on the internet on Thursday that it killed investigative journalist Sofiene Chourabi and photographer Nadhir Ktari.

The claim has not been independently verified, however.

The statement accused the journalists of having worked for “a satellite channel that fights religion.”

Militer Libya Gempur Pangkalan Perang Al Jufrah

Konfrontasi -  Angkatan Udara Libya menyerang pangkalan militer Al-Jufrah. Aksi ini merupakan serangan pertama kali sejak awal pertempuran melawan kelompok fanatik Fajar Libya.

"Satu jet tempur Sukhoi melancarkan dua serangan udara terhadap pangkalan udara militer Al-Jufrah. Serangan udara tersebut ditujukan ke lokasi penyimpanan kendaraan militer milisi Fajar Libya. Sejumlah kendaraan dan senjata hancur, tanpa ada korban jiwa," kata satu sumber Angkatan Udara Libya.

Greek oil tanker bombed by Libyan warplanes

KONFRONTASI-A Libyan warplane from forces loyal to the internationally recognised government has bombed a Greek-operated oil tanker anchored off the coast, killing two crewmen amid an escalation of conflict between factions vying to rule the country.

Military officials said the vessel had acted suspiciously after a warning not to enter port and said it was suspected of transporting Libyan fighters to Derna, the eastern port city where the ship was at anchor when it was hit on Sunday.

Dialog Perdamaian Libya Ditengahi PBB Kembali Ditunda

Konfrontasi - Babak baru pembicaraan perdamaian, yang ditengahi PBB untuk mengakhiri kemelut politik -yang meningkat- di Libya, kembali ditunda dan tidak akan dilangsungkan pada awal pekan ini sebagaimana direncanakan, kata sumber diplomatik, Minggu (4/1).

5 Juta Dollar Raib, Bank Libya Dirampok Pria Bersenjata

Konfrontasi - Sebuah bank di Ibu Kota Libya, Tripoli dirampok oleh beberapa pria bersenjata. Uang  sebanyak tujuh juta dinar Libya (lima juta dolar AS) raib.

Sejumlah pria bersenjata dengan naik dua mobil menyerang bank tersebut yang berada di pusat Kota Tripoli, dan mengambil tujuh dinar Libya sebelum meninggalkan tempat itu.

"Penyerangan tersebut terjadi secara tiba-tiba dan cepat. Pria bersenjata itu, yang membawa banyak senjata, mengepung gerbang utama bank dan mengancam akan membunuh staf jika pegawai bank mengikuti mereka," kata pejabat tersebut.
