Hujan Salju Tewaskan Dua Pendaki Polandia

Konfrontasi – Empat pendaki gunung Annapurna di Nepal meninggal dunia. Seluruh korban tidak terselamatkan karena longsor hujan salju.

Polisi Nepal menyatakan korban terdiri dari dua warga Polandia, satu orang Israel dan satu orang Nepal. Sebelumnya, ada lima pendaki Kanada dan India di distrik Manang serta tiga penggembala sapi tewas karena hanyut oleh hujan salju.

Parlemen Inggris Dorong Palestina Lawan Israel

Konfrontasi – Usaha Palestina untuk meraih pengakuan kemerdekaan dari negara lain menuai hasil. Majelis Rendah atau House of Commons di Inggris mendukung pembentukan negara Palestina.

Dalam voting yang digelar Rabu (15/10), sebanyak 274 suara mendukung Palestina merdeka. Sedangkan 12 menentang opini tersebut. Jubir parlemen menyatakan dukungan ini membuka solusi perdamaian baru antara Israel dan Palestina untuk mengakhiri perang.

“Dewan ini percaya bahwa Pemerintah harus mengakui negara Palestina bersama Israel,” tutur jubir parlemen.

UK decision to recognize Palestine angers Israel

KONFRONTASI - Israel has expressed anger at the British parliament’s vote in favor of recognizing the state of Palestine.

The Israeli Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday that the vote in favor of recognizing Palestine as a state risks undermining efforts for what it called “real peace with Palestinians.”

Meanwhile, Britain's Ambassador to Israel, Matthew Gould, said public sentiment in the UK and around the world has shifted against Israel following its recent 50-day onslaught on the Gaza Strip.

Israel blocks entry of construction materials to Gaza

KONFRONTASI - Israel has prevented dozens of trucks loaded with building materials from entering the besieged Gaza Strip, despite earlier promises to allow such a move.

“We were notified by the Palestinian National Company that Israel has indefinitely delayed the entry of the 60 trucks into the Gaza Strip,” the official Anadolu Agency quoted Mounir al-Ghalban from Gaza’s border authority, as saying on Tuesday.

Hamas ‘Keukeuh’ Bangun Negara Islam Palestina

Konfrontasi – Kelompok Hamas diperkirakan terus berjuang membentuk negara berbasis khalifah di Palestina. Dugaan tersebut dipicu penyataan tokoh Hamas dalam acara pemakaman seorang polisi.

Mahmud al-Zahar, pejabat senior Hamas, mengatakan kelompoknya tidak mau mengikuti jejak pemerintahan emirat. Hamas memilih pemerintahan khalifah mereka sendiri.

 “Kami tidak ingin hanya mendirikan emirat Islam di Gaza. Kami ingin mendirikan sebuah negara Islam di Palestina,” tegasnya, Rabu,( 1/10).

Obama to Netanyahu: Change status quo

KONFRONTASI - US President Barack Obama has called for a change in the status quo between Israel and the Palestinians in order to prevent another war in the Gaza Strip and advance peace.

"We realize we have to find ways to change the status quo, so that both Israelis feel safe in their homes and also you do not have the tragedy of Palestinian children being killed as well,” Obama told visiting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu before Oval Office talks on Wednesday.
