Hong Kong warns protesters not to return after clashes close government HQ

KONFRONTASI-Thousands of Hong Kong pro-democracy activists forced the temporary closure of government headquarters on Monday after clashing with police, defying orders to retreat after more than two months of sustained protests in the Chinese-controlled city.

Hong Kong leader Leung Chun-ying said police had been tolerant but would now take "resolute action", suggesting that patience may have finally run out.

Amnesty warns Hong Kong police against use of ‘excessive force’

KONFRONTASI - Amnesty International has warned Hong Kong police against the use of “excessive force” ahead of planned demonstrations by anti-election law protesters.

Protest leaders plan to hold a major demonstration at the main protest camp in central Hong Kong on November 30.

Police on November 26 tore down tents and barricades set up in the busy commercial district of Mong Kok, using “pepper water” against the protesters. Over 140 people were arrested.

86 protesters arrested in Hong Kong clashes

KONFRONTASI - Police in Hong Kong have detained 86 protesters who engaged in clashes with security forces during an operation to clear barricades in a key protest site.

The people were apprehended on Tuesday after they scuffled with law enforcement forces overseeing dozens of workers who were dismantling makeshift barriers in a small part of a busy shopping street in the Mong Kok district.

KONFRONTASI-Aksi unjuk rasa pro demokrasi di Hong KIong dibubarkan paksa polisi dengan cairan merica. Selain itu, polisi juga menangkap 80 orang ketika mereka bergerak untuk membersihkan satu jalan kota yang dihalangi demonstran selama hampir dua bulan.

Para personel polisi yang menggunakan helm, dengan membawa alat-alat pemukul, berhadap-hadapan dengan puluhan pengunjuk rasa di satu kawasan di distrik Mongkok, tempat pengunjuk rasa dan polisi sering bentrok sejak aksi duduk mulai di tiga perempatan terpisah di kota itu pada 28 September.

AP- Three Hong Kong students who have led protests for greater democracy in the former British colony were denied in their attempt Saturday to go to Beijing to meet with top Chinese officials.

Alex Chow, Nathan Law and Eason Chung — members of a student group that played a main role in organizing massive street protests that started nearly two months ago — arrived at the Hong Kong airport greeted by dozens of well-wishers. But they were denied boarding passes for a Cathay Pacific flight when they were told their documents that would allow them to travel to Beijing were invalid.

Jenazah Dua WNI Tiba dari Hong Kong

KONFRONTASI-Dua jenazah warga negara Indonesia korban pembunuhan di Hong Kong tiba di Terminal Kargo Bandara Soekarno-Hatta, Tangerang, Banten, pukul 14.40 WIB tanpa disambut keluarga.

Petugas Kementerian Luar Negeri RI dan petugas Terminal Kargo Bandara mengurus dokumen kepulangan jenazah Seneng Mujiasih dan Sumarti Ningsih.

"Menurut rencana, jenazah bisa langsung dibawa pulang karena dokumennya sudah lengkap." kata Krisna Jaelani Kepala Sub Bidang Pengawasan dan Kekonsuleran Kementerian Luar Negeri Indonesia di Terminal Kargo Bandara Soekarno-Hatta, Selasa.

Dua WNI yang Dibunuh Bankir Inggris Bukan TKI

KONFRONTASI - Sumarti Ningsih dan Jesse Lorena alias Seneng Mujiasih yang tewas dibunuh warga Inggris, Rurik George Caton Jutting, di Hongkong tidak tercatat sebagai Tenaga Kerja Indonesia (TKI). Demikian Badan Nasional Penempatan dan Perlindungan Tenaga Kerja Indonesia (BNP2TKI).

Kepala BNP2TKI Gatot Abdullah Mansyur di Mataram, Rabu, mengatakan dari hasil penelusuran, kedua WNI itu masuk ke Hongkong hanya berbekal visa kunjungan dan pernah menjadi TKW.
