Prancis Pastikan EgyptAir Alami Kecelakaan

KONFRONTASI-Penerbangan EgyptAir yang dilaporkan hilang antara Paris dan Kairo mengalami kecelakaan, demikian dipastikan Presiden Prancis, Francois Hollande.

Pesawat Airbus A320 dengan 66 orang di dalamnya itu hilang dari radar pada pukul 02:30 waktu Kairo (00:30 GMT) tidak lama setelah meninggalkan wilayah udara Yunani pada Kamis (19/05).

Menteri pertahanan Yunani mengatakan Penerbangan MS804 membuat "tikungan tajam" dan jatuh sebelum keluar dari radar.

Hollande meets Fidel Castro during Cuba visit

KONFRONTASI-Francois Hollande has become the first French president to visit Cuba since 1898, holding talks with revolutionary leader Fidel Castro in the capital Havana.

The French leader is using a one-day trip to the island to build business and diplomatic relations, five months after a detente between the Caribbean nation and the US.

Hollande was due to hold private talks with President Raul Castro later on Monday.

Hollande pledges to seek ‘de-escalation’ in Ukraine

KONFRONTASI-French President Francois Hollande has pledged to work towards a "de-escalation" of the crisis in eastern Ukraine, where government forces have been engaged in fierce clashes with pro-Russia forces.

"We are going to work together to find all the points that will allow... to initiate a de-escalation" in Ukraine’s east, Hollande said on Friday.

He made the remarks at a joint press conference with his Kazakh counterpart Nursultan Nazarbayev during his two-day trip to the Central Asian country.
