KONFRONTASI-Flag-waving Cubans leaned from windows and lined the streets as Fidel Castro's funeral cortege approached the end of three-day journey on Saturday, rolling into the city of Santiago de Cuba where the revolutionary leader's remains will be laid to rest.

KONFRONTASI - Pemimpin revolusioner Kuba Fidel Castro muncul di hadapan publik dan berpidato kepada Partai Komunis yang dirintisnya sekitar setengah abad silam.
Castro mengatakan dirinya akan segera meninggal dunia, dan meminta para pengurus Partai Komunitas Kuba untuk tetap menjaga ideologinya agar tetap hidup.
"Saya akan berumur 90 tahun dalam waktu dekat," tutur Castro, yang sudah bertahun-tahun tak pernah lagi berpidato di publik.

KONFRONTASI-U.S. President Barack Obama turns from sightseeing to state business on his historic Cuba trip on Monday, pressing President Raul Castro for economic and democratic reforms while hearing complaints about continued U.S. economic sanctions.
Obama and Castro will have their fourth meeting, likely their most substantial, at the Palace of the Revolution, where Castro and his predecessor, older brother Fidel Castro, have led Cuba's resistance to U.S. pressure going back decades.

KONFRONTASI-Retired Cuban President Fidel Castro celebrated his 89th birthday on Thursday with two of his country's closest leftist allies from Latin America, a day ahead of a historic visit by the U.S. secretary of state.
Castro, who handed power to his brother Raul in 2008 because of failing health, met with Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and Bolivian President Evo Morales, both staunch supporters of Havana's Communist government.

KONFRONTASI-Francois Hollande has become the first French president to visit Cuba since 1898, holding talks with revolutionary leader Fidel Castro in the capital Havana.
The French leader is using a one-day trip to the island to build business and diplomatic relations, five months after a detente between the Caribbean nation and the US.
Hollande was due to hold private talks with President Raul Castro later on Monday.

Konfrontasi - Kunjungan presiden Venezuela Nicola Maduro, mengatakan bahwa ia bertemu dengan mantan presiden Kuba Fidel Castro dalam kunujungannyta ke Havana, Kamis (19/2).
Dalam pertemuan tersebut, Maduro dan Castro berbincang tentang masalah dunia. "Kami berbicara mengenai banyak hal tentang dunia, perdamaian sampai perubahan iklim. Castro menyampaikan salam untuk semua rakyat Venezuela," kata Maduro dalam pidatonya, yang disiarkan secara luas.

KONFRONTASI - Mantan pimpinan Kuba Fidel Castro tampak memberikan dukungan pada upaya pemulihan hubungan antara Kuba dan Amerika Serikat. Kedua negara diketahui telah sepakat untuk memperbaiki hubungan diplomatik sejak bulan lalu.
"Saya tidak percaya kebijakan Amerika Serikat, juga pertukaran dengan mereka. Tapi hal ini tidak berarti. Penolakan atas solusi damai atas konflik atau bahaya Perang," kata Fidel Castro dalam sebuah pernyataan yang dimuat di situs surat kabar Partai komunis Kuba Granma pada Senin (26/1).
