In a move that appears aimed at the numbers of Chinese mainlanders flooding into Indonesia’s industrial sector but that will likely sideswipe foreign and local investors, the government is poised to mandate that all expatriate work permit holders be forced to learn Indonesian as a foreign language.

Chinese shares rise to 4-year high: Report

KONFRONTASI - Chinese shares have witnessed a vigorous growth, rising to a four-year high, dealers say.

According to the dealers on Friday, the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index jumped to 3,157.60 points after rising 1.58 percent over the week. The figure was the highest since November 8, 2010, when the share ended at 3,159.51 points.

The Shenzhen Composite Index also soared to 1,439.48 on the same day despite losing 1.78 percent over the week.
