Obama Umumkan Perpanjangan Visa Bagi Warga Tiongkok

Konfrontasi - Presiden Barack Obama pada Senin (10/11) mengumumkan kesepakatan perpanjangan masa berlaku visa bagi warga negara Tiongkok yang berkunjung ke Amerika Serikat hingga satu dekade.

Obama menekankan bahwa ia menginginkan Tiongkok "dalam keadaan baik" kendati hubungan dua negara dengan perekonomian terbesar di dunia itu mengalami ketegangan.

"Amerika Serikat menyambut bangkitnya Tiongkok yang makmur, damai dan stabil," kata Obama ketika menyampaikan pidato pada pertemuan puncak Kerja Sama Ekonomi Asia Pasifik (APEC) di Beijing.

KONFRONTASI-A group of Republicans have criticized President Barack Obama for sending a letter to Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.

The Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday that the secret letter stressed the US-Iran shared interests in fighting the ISIL terrorist group.

The Journal cited people briefed on the letter, but added that White House officials declined to discuss the letter with the newspaper.

Hawkish Republican Senators John McCain and Lindsey Graham in a joint statement called the letter “outrageous.”

Art Olivier, the former mayor of Bellflower, California, who was also the Libertarian candidate for vice president in the US presidential election in 2000, made the remarks in an interview with Press TV on Thursday.

Obama: Americans can't cut off from West Africa because of Ebola

KONFRONTASI-US President Barack Obama on Saturday said that there would not be any travel bans on passengers coming from West Africa saying restrictions would exacerbate the situation.

"We can't just cut ourselves off from West Africa," Obama said during his weekly address. "Trying to seal off an entire region of the world - if that were even possible - could actually make the situation worse," he added.

Obama said that such bans would also make it difficult for health workers and supplies to be transported into countries, which are suffering from Ebola.
