KONFRONTASI-Seorang gadis remaja dan adik laki-lakinya di provinsi Ghor, Afghanistan, membalas dendam dengan membunuh dua anggota milisi Taliban yang menghabisi orang tua mereka.

Juru bicara provinsi Ghor, Arif Aber, mengatakan kepada CNN pada Rabu (22/7) bahwa remaja putri bernama Qhamar Gul (15) dan adik laki-lakinya, Habibullah, melawan milisi Taliban dengan menggunakan senapan serbu AK-47 ketika rumah mereka diserang.

Terlalu Berbahaya, Afghanistan Tolak Bebaskan Ratusan Tahanan Taliban

KONFRONTASI-Pemerintah Afghanistan mengatakan menolak membebaskan 600 tahanan Taliban karena dianggap 'terlalu berbahaya'. Penolakan ini disampaikan di tengah pembicaraan damai pertukaran tahanan antara Amerika Serikat, Taliban, dan Afghanistan.

Gunmen in Afghanistan kill 25 at Sikh complex, Islamic State claims responsibility

KONFRONTASI-Gunmen and suicide bombers raided a Sikh religious complex in the Afghan capital of Kabul on Wednesday, killing 25 people before security forces killed all of the attackers, the government said.

The Islamic State militant group claimed responsibility for the attack in a statement. Sikhs have been the target of attack by Islamist militants before in South Asia. Their community in Afghanistan numbers fewer than 300 families.

Pakistan shuts main Afghan border crossing after mortar fire

KONFRONTASI-Pakistan has closed the main border crossing with Afghanistan after mortar bombs landed in Pakistani territory from across the border on Wednesday, a Pakistani official has said.

The Torkham border crossing, at the top of the Khyber Pass, through which thousands of vehicles pass every week, is the main trade link between the uneasy neighbours.

In September last year, Pakistan opened the crossing for 24 hours a day to boost trade.

Taliban attack on U.S. military base kills one, injures scores

KONFRONTASI- Suicide bombers struck the main U.S. military base in Afghanistan on Wednesday, killing at least one person and injuring scores in a major attack that could scupper plans to revive peace talks between the United States and the Taliban.

The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack, which struck the Bagram air base north of Kabul.

Inilah Tetsu Nakamura, Dokter Jepang yang Tewas Ditembak di Afghanistan

KONFRONTASI -    Insiden penembakan kembali terjadi di Afghanistan pada Rabu (4/12/2019). Kali ini menimpa rombongan yang salah satunya adalah seorang dokter asal Jepang sekaligus pekerja bantuan bernama Tetsu Nakamura. Sang dokter bersama sejumlah orang lainnya tewas akibat serangan tersebut.

Insiden itu dilaporkan terjadi di daerah Jalalabad, Kabul, Afghanistan. Di mana sekelompok bersenjata menembaki rombongan dokter Tetsu Nakamura hingga menewaskan sejumlah orang termasuk sang dokter.
